Setting Up a Conversion Profile

Task

In this topic, we set up a conversion profile that generates a an ASCII delimited formatted file from the original .dat file. This profile is set up to produce the converted.along with the standard data file.

NOTE: This topic shows you how to convert to ASCII delimited only. For complete details on your conversion options, see Conversion Profile dialog box.

Procedure

  1. Select <New> from the Conversion Profile list, then click Create. The Conversion Profile dialog box appears.
  2. Click on the Conversion Profile File Name which is currently New 1 Conversion Profile. The Select Profile dialog box appears. Enter the File Name Form 223022 Practice and click OK.
  3. Select the following options to convert a file to ASCII csv complete with headers:
  4. Application: xxx - Form 223022 Practice

    During scanning: Write data file and converted data

    Output format: Delimited ASCII

    NCS Header Year Format: Two Digit

    Output field names: Yes

    Output extension: .csv

    Record delimiter: CR/LF

    Field delimiter: Comma (,)

    Text envelope: Double quote (")

    Record format: 223022

      Fields Included Fields Omitted Output Positions
      NCS Header   n/a
      Name   n/a
      Birth Date   n/a
      ID Number   n/a
      Gender   n/a
      Education   n/a
      Part One   n/a
      Part Two   n/a
      Subtest Part One   n/a

  5. Click OK to close the Conversion Profile dialog box.

That completes the score profile for this example. Continue on to the next two topics to perform scan-time and post-scan conversions using this profile.
