If your application is approved, you will receive a notice via email that will allow you to schedule your examination at the testing center of your choice. Testing centers are located in the U.S. and Canada, each maintaining its own schedule based on overall demand and scheduling constraints. Some centers have a limited schedule or limited seating. American Society for Bioethics and Humanities offers an online practice examination with sample questions similar in type to those that will be found on the actual examination. The HEC-C Practice Examination is composed of 50 multiple-choice questions and is intended to provide individuals with a sample of the type of questions that will be asked. These practice questions do not appear on the certification examination. Success on the practice examination does not guarantee positive results on the certification exam. The intent of the practice exam is to give you experience with taking an online exam, the format of the questions, and the type of content that you’ll see on the certification exam. You cannot re-enter this test once you have submitted it for scoring. Your score on the practice exam is NOT predictive of your score on the certification examination.

Duration of Practice Examination: You will have unlimited time to take the test, as long as you complete it within 365 days of the purchase date. Your examination will auto-submit for scoring once your 365 days have passed from the purchase date or you may manually submit it earlier. Once an examination has been auto-submitted due to the 365 days having passed or you choose to submit it, you will not be able to re-access the examination.
Duration of Eligibility: 365 days from the date of purchase or upon candidate submission.
Feedback/ Score Report: Your practice examination score results will be immediate. Upon conclusion of the practice examination, you will receive a report that will let you know how many questions you answered correctly and incorrectly in each content area of the practice examination and will also provide rationale information and further reading to support the correct answer.
