Association for Applied Sport Psychology

Founded in 1985, the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) is the leading organization for sport and performance psychology professionals, including Certified Mental Performance Consultants® (CMPC), who work with athletes, coaches, non-sport performers (e.g., dancers and musicians), exercisers, business professionals, and tactical occupations (e.g., military personnel, firefighters, and police officers) to enhance their performance from a psychological standpoint. Learn more at appliedsportpsych.org, or visit us on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) certification recognizes the knowledge and skill consultants need to meet the expectations of athletes, coaches, and performers in other settings (e.g., performing artists, military personnel, business executives). CMPCs have completed specialized education, engaged in applied training, passed a rigorous exam, adhere to a code of ethics, and commit to ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices. The CMPC certification program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
