Sheet Image Diagnostic dialog box

NOTE: Sheet Image Diagnostic use is required for ScanTools Plus with ScanFlex users. If you are not using the ScanFlex option, do not use this function without the advice and supervision of Scantron support personnel.

You access the Sheet Image Diagnostic by pressing CTRL+ALT+I from the main window. Or, if you have the Diagnostic menu item displayed, see Advanced Configuration, you can select Sheet Image Diagnostic from the menu.

This window lets you scan a sheet and view the raw data from the top and bottom read heads in the scanner. This diagnostic utility is designed to be used by Scantron service technicians and does not store any of the data scanned from the sheet. It is used just for viewing the data and does not use a ScanTools application or data file.

When you first open this dialog box, no data is available. To view data, you must do the following:

OpScan Scanner Procedure

1. Insert a sheet with marks in the scanner input tray. Press the Scan button on the bottom of this dialog box.

2. After data has been scanned and appears in the dialog box, you must use a mono-spaced, fixed width font for your Data line font so that the data appears in correct alignment.

3. When displaying the results of the scanned data, you may change the Cutoff value to best fit your need. The data is updated to only display marks of that cutoff value and higher.

EZData Scanner Procedure

1. Insert a sheet with marks in the scanner input tray. Press the Scan button on the bottom of this dialog box.

2. After data has been scanned it appears in the display area.

3. The Cutoff control does NOT update the display for EZData scanners.

iNSIGHT 70/150, 5000i, iNSIGHT 20/20 Plus, iNSIGHT 30, and iNSIGHT 2/4 Scanner Procedure

1. Insert a sheet with marks in the scanner input tray. Press the Scan button on the bottom of this dialog box

2. The Diagnostic Scan Settings dialog box displays when you select the Settings button.

3. Use the Fonts button to select a monospaced, fixed width font for your Data line font so that the data appears in correct alignment. See Fonts button below.

4. When displaying the results of the scanned data, you may change the Cutoff value to best fit your need. The data is updated to only display marks of that cutoff value and higher.

Cutoff

Use this control to change the display of mark read values. Values are between 0 and 15. Only values that are equal to or greater than the cutoff are shown. Values lower than the cutoff are not shown; a space appears instead. Selecting 0 shows all marks; the default is 3.

EZData Scanner: This control is NOT used by the EZData scanner.
