Design

Our Scantron software has intuitive interfaces and tools to help you design scannable OMR/Image forms.

You can create and personalize forms to fit your specific needs and then print them at your location or with Scantron.

Scan

Completed forms need to be converted into useable data. Our software works with Scantron's iNSIGHT scanners to transform paper forms into digital forms. 

Once the form is scanned it stores the images in a variety of formats including PDF, TIFF, JPG, PCX, DCX, PNG and BMP.

Our software supports the industry standard TWAIN and ISIS protocols. In addition to OMR, it also offers recognition engines that can read handprint and machine print.

Identify

After a form is scanned, document reference marks help the software differentiate one form from another.

The software identifies a specific form and then recognizes the specific fields to extract data from, such as hand printed personal information, machine printed routine information and check marks.

Recognize and Enhance

Streaked, fuzzy or cut-off forms are difficult to process and require human correction.  This can interrupt the automated collection process; adding additional labor costs and increased inaccuracy. To correct this problem, Scantron software de-skews and de-speckles scanned forms to provide a clean, readable image.

  • Reads printed or typed text in 177 languages
  • Recognize popular bar code formats
  • Recognize handprint and machine print
  • Compare logic and business rules to produce reliable results

Verify and Validate

Accurate information is critical for making the right business decisions.

To confirm reliability of scanned data, our software rules can automatically be set to check against external databases or user-defined dictionaries.

This process allows date, currency and character-specific formatting validation that improves accuracy and maximizes efficiency. The software will flag letters and numbers that are unclear and allow the user to quickly review them against the original scanned image, database or user defined rules.

Export Data and Images

Scantron software provides several export options.

Processed data can be exported in XML, DBF, Microsoft® Excel and CSV (Comma Separated Values) file formats for seamless integration with existing applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning Software, Statistical Software, reports and web sites.

It's also ODBC compliant, so images can be exported into databases and electronic archives in popular electronic formats including PDF, BMP, TIFF, WMF and PCX for later storage and retrieval.
