Scantron K-12 Assessment Solution Enhances Data Analysis

(August 31, 2009) Scantron announces the release of its latest assessment solution for K-12 education, comprised of the award-winning Achievement Series and Performance Series® software. This assessment solution helps educators meet state and federal requirements and raise the level of student achievement through a unique combination of computer-adaptive diagnostic testing and standards-based formative assessment.

Achievement Series is a powerful web-based district-wide assessment solution that allows K-12 educators to develop and administer online and paper-based tests, capture immediate results, and produce standards-based reports.
In this new release, Achievement Series allows users to create custom performance bands for score evaluation. This color-coded evaluation provides teachers the ability to understand data more quickly and group students based on recent performance. Color coded bands, created by test or subject, encourage consistent interpretation of scores and can reduce staff training time. Classroom reports will display the custom performance bands in chart and table display, to ensure that educators can view test data as preferred.

Performance Series is a web-based, computer-adaptive diagnostic test that provides individualized assessment and learning plans for all students. This update to Performance Series includes multiple performance band sets for each subject, defined from NPR quartiles, to assist with student grouping in the classroom. On the student side, three new templates for profile reports are available – making a total of six options. One example is the Student Goals Summary that provides a graphical display of data over time, plus the top objectives a student should target next. Both updates continue our commitment to flexibility in data analysis.
