Scantron Supports Colorado's READ Act
The Colorado READ Act supports educators with a focus on K-3 literacy, assessment, and individual plans for students reading below grade level. Replacing the Colorado Basic Literacy Act (CBLA), READ adds a focus on students identified as having a significant reading deficiency, delineating requirements for parent communication, and providing funding to support intervention. Scantron's Performance Series is approved for supporting early literacy and other interim assessments in Colorado schools. School can use these assessments as part of their unified improvement planning (UIP).
Performance Series is a research-based, criterion-referenced computer-adaptive test that lets K–12 educators quickly pinpoint the instructional level of students across a range of subjects (including but not limited to Reading and Math), capture immediate results, and produce standards-based reports including suggested learning objectives, on a scaled score.
Performance Series is a fully-integrated computer adaptive diagnostic assessment used for predicting performance on the state tests and tracking student growth over time. Performance Series enables educators to identify the proficiency levels of students corresponding to state-specific standards, assess K–2 and help understand 3rd grade readiness, as well as measure growth, understand student performance in relation to others, predict summative test results, inform instruction, help with placement, and provide direct links to several teaching and learning resources such as Lexile.
