Create customized patient encounter forms

With Docuscan's intuitive software, you can create a variety of patient encounter templates by keying in the specific procedure and diagnosis codes you would like on each template. Then, you can print out an individual form prior to each patient's visit or batch-print forms for all of the day's appointments. Based on your choice of criteria - such as provider preference, specialty, insurance, and reason for visit—Docuscan will automatically select the correct template, link it to patient demographics, and print it out on bubble sheets supplied by Scantron. The software will align the procedures and diagnosis codes with bubbles—so that the health care provider can simply fill in the bubbles next to the appropriate codes.

Automatically capture and validate charges

After the patient visit, just scan the completed forms—individually or in batches—with Scantron iNSIGHT scanners. The Docuscan system will capture the charges and validate them, using sophisticated coding software that checks factors such as CPT and ICD-9 correlation, ultimate level of specificity (fourth or fifth digit), and Medicare bundling and unbundling. The software will alert you to any potential coding errors that are detected so you can correct them before you post the charge data to your practice management system.

Track missing forms

Docusan also allows you to print out a tracking report that lists patients whose forms have not yet been scanned. The report provides the patient's name and identification number, appointment date and time, and health care provider's name and site—so that you can readily locate the file.
