Prior to Scantron, Hansen served as president and chief executive officer of Chartwell Education Group, LLC, an education-related consulting firm headquartered in New York, with offices in Washington, D.C. and London. Prior to joining Chartwell in 2005, he served as the senior vice president and managing director of Fortune 500 company Affiliated Computer Services' (ACS) Education Services Business. From May 2001 to July 2003, Hansen served our country as the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, functioning as its chief operating officer. Between 1993 and 2001, he was president of the Education Finance Council, a trade association representing state-based student loan finance organizations. This position was preceded by a dozen years in numerous senior executive positions with the U.S. Department of Education, including assistant secretary for Management and Budget, and chief financial officer.
Hansen's volunteer efforts reflect his professional positions, spanning both government and private industry. He has served on many voluntary boards and commissions at both the state and national levels, focusing on reforming elementary and secondary schools and increasing access to higher education. He also currently serves as a director on the boards of several finance, technology and education companies, as well as universities and non-profit organizations.
Terri Shaw brings the experience of a distinguished 30-year private and public sector career of executive leadership in the financial services, technology, not-for profit, and federal government sectors. She most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for Educational Credit Management Corporation. Prior to that she was the Chief Operating Officer of Federal Student Aid with the U.S. Department of Education where she served from 2002 to 2006 under appointment by the Secretary of Education. From 1980 to 2000, she was employed in a variety of management and executive positions at Sallie Mae and last held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. From 2000 to 2001, Ms. Shaw was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of eNumerate Solutions Incorporated, a start-up technology firm where she oversaw the development of the company's first commercial software products.
Dave Conway joined Scantron more than 25 years ago and has served as President of the Service organization since 1996. Previously, he held positions in sales, business development and sales management.
Bruce Kraft joined Scantron in March 2009 as Senior Vice President of Finance. In his current role with Scantron, he leads the Finance and Accounting operations of the business. Kraft had previously been with US Bank for nine years as a Senior Vice President and Vice President of Finance were he held a variety of leadership positions. Prior to US Bank, Kraft was a Vice President, Manager of Finance and an analyst within General Electric were he held numerous leadership positions in GE Capital, Information Services, Medical Systems and Plastics over a thirteen year period. A graduate of Iowa State University with a BBA in Finance, Kraft also earned his MBA at Marquette University.
Marianna O'Brien is a senior level corporate communications and marketing professional with experience in private, public and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Scantron, O'Brien was a senior vice president at ECMC, a higher education finance company, located in Oakdale, Minnesota, where she was responsible for corporate communications and the project management office (PMO). O'Brien's previous experience includes implementing enterprise communications projects, brand strategy initiatives and marketing programs for the Federal Student Aid office at the U.S. Department of Education, Optimum Public Relations and Sallie Mae.
Stephanie Nellons oversees Scantron's K-16 education sector, including sales, project implementation, training and client relations for all data and web-based education solutions. Nellons has over 25- years experience in sales, key project implementations and strategic relationship management having worked in the public and private sectors, in the research, education, and transportation fields. Nellons has served as Co-Chair for the Education Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council and the United States Conference of Mayors' Business Council. She has also served as a trustee on the National School Board Foundation. In addition, she has spearheaded major public/private partnership efforts for such organizations as the National Research Council, National Caucuses of Latino and African-American School Board members, and the National Association For Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.
Prior to joining Scantron, Scott Fleming was President of Madison Education Group, an international educational consulting group with a client base ranging from foreign universities to student lenders, guaranty agencies and K-12 business services companies. Madison's client list included some of the largest education companies in the U.S., and abroad, as well as major philanthropic foundations and non-profit organizations. He has been a frequent presenter at student financial aid conferences and is internationally recognized as an expert on postsecondary education. He has also worked for the United States Senate, where he was responsible for higher education policy for the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and authored legislation to reconfigure the federal student lending programs. He is a graduate of the David M. Kennedy School of International and Area Studies at Brigham Young University.
Sally Stroup joined Scantron in October 2009 and oversees all legal matters within the company. Stroup previously held various positions on the Committee on Education and Labor in the US House of Representatives and served as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Postsecondary Education at the US Department of Education from 2002 to 2006. Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Stroup served as Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency for more than 10 years.
