Manager, Product Training

Location: Irvine
Position Reports To: Vice President, Client Services
Position Supervised: Higher ED Implementation Coordinator, Product Trainers, Contract Consultants [Non-employees]

The Training Manager's role is to provide leadership, organization and direction for the on-going improvement of DC and High Education clients training programs and offerings as well as employee training. The Manager will also be assigned specific customer and employee training classes to present.

Essential Job Functions

  • Direct supervision of Implementation Coordinator, Product Trainers and Contract Consultants
  • Responsible for developing/managing departmental budgets
  • Responsible for development of pricing on the variety of classes and webinar/seminar offerings throughout the department
  • Monitor training expenses to ensure department profitability
  • Oversee the departmental training calendar
  • Track training metrics to insure success and continued improvement
  • Oversee the on-going/continuing product and skill education of training staff
  • Develop cross-training plans to insure product training coverage
  • Support of Human Resources & Client Services employee training initiatives
  • Actively participate in instructional design process for all courses offered by the department
  • Ability to serve as internal training consultant to other Scantron departments
  • Oversee the on-going editing and development process of end-user training materials
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment including ability to present information to top management and clients
  • Oversee on-going updates to the Scantron DC Training Website
  • Dedicated to delighting Scantron customers and employees
  • 25% travel required

Qualifications of the position

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree recommended
  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years formal training [adult] or commercial training required; Management of "people" experience required
  • Required Knowledge: Intermediate computer skills, knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills required; Strong organizational skills required.
