Director Business Analysis
To develop models for evaluating potential acquisition targets. To support analysis of strategic initiatives. To review business unit level financial results and develop recommendations to management of operational improvements designed to improve financial efficiency of the business unit. To interface with the budget and forecasting function providing insightful guidance designed to assist in improving budgetary information and forecasting.
Helps with the development of policies and procedures based upon analytical knowledge obtained through business analysis.
Essential Job Functions
- Interprets, evaluates, and interrelates research data, and develops integrated business analyses and projections in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, merger / acquisition / divestiture, and investment for incorporation into strategic decision-making;
- Helps develops company, division, business unit or functional group policy, procedures and controls;
- Helps determines and establishes departmental structures and supervisory relationships, subject to top management approval;
- Represents the organizational unit as prime internal and external contact on contracts or operations and conducts briefings and technical meetings for top management;
- Initiates and oversees the planning and implementation of longer-term projects and objectives, within defined area of expertise;
- Occasionally becomes involved in daily operational activities and assists in preparation of budgets;
Qualifications for the Position
Education/Certification:
Required Knowledge:
- Excellent analytical and process-based skills, i.e. process flow, business modeling, and functional design;
- Knowledge of project management and business research principles, processes, techniques, and tools;
- Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements as applicable.
Experience Required:
- 4+ years relevant experience;
- Exposure to project management and business analysis techniques, methodologies, and reporting.
Skills/Abilities:
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills for this highly visible position requiring frequent, very articulate communication;
- Ability to interact with all level managers concerning matters of significance to the company;
- Must demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills, strong project management experience, and the ability to influence business decisions;
- Comfortable in either the business or technical domain;
- Ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
