Account Manager

Has lead role in setting up new projects for project management. Oversees all aspects of new projects to ensure a high level of quality and service. Manages the project communications with customers, internal partners, and vendors by establishing and managing project timelines to meet or exceed customer expectations. Works with the sales organization, technical staff, developers and operational staff to develop the optimum solution for startup of all new projects.

Scope and Impact of Job

  • Consistently works on complex assignments, requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures. Errors could cause significant delays to department or a project that may increase costs or timeframes.
  • Supervision: Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator and team leader. Usually orients, trains, assigns, and checks the work of less experienced or line level employees.

Required Knowledge & Experience

Formal Education or Equivalent Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of six years experience in a customer service/account management or project management role.
  • Previous experience with Scantron Survey Services products desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. E. PMP certification desirable.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication/interaction skills for presenting, and recommending Scantron forms products and services.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to ensure responsibilities are carried out in an orderly manner.
  • Knowledge of Scantron scanners, software, database applications, and data entry software packages.
  • Can understand and maintain a dialog on Survey Services' products with sales, operations and development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required to effectively analyze a project's need and ability to offer multiple solutions.
  • Must present a professional image and demeanor.
  • Demonstrated competency with personal computer and business-related software.

Primary Responsibilities

  • A.Support and respect the team concept by assisting with workload management, backup and taking shared responsibility for the team's account base.
  • Collects detailed specifications received from the customer and communicates specifications accurately to all functional areas.
  • Primary responsibility to meet/exceed customer expectations and lead problem resolution.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for new customer and project opportunities.
  • Directs, controls and/or coordinates activities with all inside and outside vendors involved within the account base. Takes responsibility for ensuring the project is completed within the expectations established with Scantron and the customer.
  • Conducts project reviews on an as-needed basis. Reviews will include evaluation of scope, profitability, and quality of service provided.
  • Understands, supports and participates in the continuous improvement process.
  • Prepares & understands project analysis as needed, to include but not limited to monthly revenue forecasts and annual planning.
  • Completes special projects or assignments as requested.
  • Participates in visits and tours with customers as required.
  • Reviews and assesses vendor proposals.
  • Supports sales with complex pricing and costing requests, project analysis, product or capability research.
  • Communicates potential training opportunities for both internal and external customers.
  • Recommends new products and services to management desired by customers/specific markets.
